Psychosocial Disability Support NDIS Australia

Our services focus on capacity building, emotional regulation, and participation in daily life, aligned with NDIS goals.

Perfectly Imperfect provides neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed psychosocial disability support under the NDIS. Based in Sydney and available Australia-wide via telehealth, we support people experiencing the functional impact of mental health conditions, trauma, and chronic stress.

What Is Psychosocial Disability

Psychosocial disability refers to the impact that mental health conditions, trauma, or chronic stress can have on daily functioning.

Under the NDIS, that impact is recognised when it is ongoing and affects participation, even if capacity fluctuates.

It is not:

  • A lack of resilience
  • A motivation issue
  • A personality flaw
  • Just anxiety

Psychosocial disabilities are real, valid, and need the right support.

Why Are Psychosocial Disabilities Often Misunderstood

Psychosocial disability is often treated as short-term mental health instead of disability. It is frequently:

  • Redirected away from the NDIS.
  • Misinterpreted as behaviour problems.
  • Only recognised in crisis.
  • Separated from trauma and neurodivergence.

In reality, psychosocial disabilities often overlap with autism, ADHD, burnout, and long-term stress.

Our Approach to NDIS Support

Perfectly Imperfect’s approach is neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed, and focused on functional outcomes.

We focus on:

  • Nervous system regulation and safety
  • Behaviour as communication
  • Reducing stress and overwhelm
  • Supporting daily functioning and participation

We do not use behaviour support based on compliance or try to suppress behaviour.
